Monarch reassures Actors Guild, commends Ofa


The Monarch of Oghara Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, Orefe III, Uku Ogharaname has assured the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and members of Urhobo Film producers popularly known as'' Urhobo Wood'' of his community's support in the area of security and hospitality. The Monarch who played host to the two groups led by Dr. Henry Ofa (JP), Commissioner of DESOPADEC representing Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas of the State, Tony Akpesheri of AGN, Mrs. Edith Irabor Williams and Chief Joseph Udosan Orenkereke Mayor of Urhobo Wood, charged them to take advantage of the resources that abound in Oghara, the Ethiope West Local Government administrative headquarters, pledging to make his palace available anytime the need arises for their film production. The Orefe III while commending the efforts of the film makers, described movie industry as entertaining, educative and as a builder of the society with its attendant economic activities that goes with it each time they visits any location. While commending the effort of Dr. Henry Ofa for hosting them during the few days they spent in the area including other promises of accommodation and logistical arrangement, he promised to give his support in anyway possible whenever they make Oghara their film location. The Monarch told the visiting Nollywood/Urhobo Wood Actors that the community is investors friendly as the youths restiveness which has been his major challenge including the Niger Delta communities has been nipped on the bud and brought under control upon his assumption of office. Dr. Henry Ofa who earlier received the Nollywood/Urhobo Wood Actors in his country home, expressed his desire to support their initiatives in the area, explaining that their presence in Oghara will enhance the vision of the Delta State beyond oil programme been pursued by Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan. He told the august visitors that Oghara has all it takes and all natural endowment for film production in Nigeria, pointing out that the people particularly the youths will benefit immensely from the economic and social activities that will arise from film production in the area. The leaders of the Nollywood delegation to Oghara, Tony Akposheri and Mrs. Edith Irabor Williams commended the Monarch including Dr.Henry Ofa who offered them free accommodation and feeding for their hospitality, assuring that they will exploit the natural resources which abounds in Oghara for their film production. “We will engage a lot of the youths from the street by bringing them into the movie industries with all necessary assistance, we will key in to the three point agenda of the Delta State Government”, they said. The delegation of the Urhobo film producers led by the Mayor of Urhobo film, Chief Joseph Udosan Orenkereke pledged their support and cooperation to the Nollywood Actors, why the Nollywood Actors.
